My name is Sharon Rodriguez and I am a Sophomore studying Health Information Management & Systems at The Ohio State University! For my History 2610: Introduction to Women and Gender In the U.S. final, one of our options was to create a website on a topic of our choice concerning women and gender in American history. Thus, this website is for educational purposes only.
My research on the topic Women Photographers of the FSA and OWI actually began with a contest sponsored by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in August 2012. I became interested in the topic of Depression Era photography when my dad's family discovered there were photographs of my great grandparents and my great aunt and uncle in the Library of Congress FSA file. The photographs were taken by Marion Post Wolcott. This was an amazing discovery for my entire family, and I based my contest video on this topic. The video I created for the contest can be viewed by clicking the link to the right. youtube.com/watch?v=ioMT6iN-ThI&feature=youtu.be |
